Gender: Female Date of birth: Approximately 40,000 BCE Age: 22 at the time of the sim (give or take 40,000+ years) Species: Kzin Planet of Origin: Homeworld (of the Kzin) Height: 6' 7" Weight: You dare ask a Hero that? You shall die before I reveal ... oh, very well ... 354 lbs. but its all muscle! No you can not pinch an inch! Fur: Pattern and coloration closely resemble a Siberian tiger (light orange with thin, brown stripes) save for her short (less than shoulder length) mane of dark brown. Eyes: Yellow Distinguishing characteristics: Her right ear is notched from a fight several years before her abduction, and there is a slightly puckered line across her left paw, but otherwise she's unmarked. She's fairly well muscled and carries herself with a feline grace that could easily earn her a place among any fleet's security. While perhaps not stunningly beautiful, she's pretty enough when she smiles...unless you know what a Kzin's smile signifies. Her preference in clothes runs to functional overalls and boots when working or vest and shorts otherwise, but she's not beyond dressing more provacatively given enough reason.
Background:
Born the second daughter of Prrung Nebendi, Clan Leader of the noble Clan
Nebendi, she was trained from birth how to hunt and fight. She is quite skilled
with staff, sword, knife, bow, and more recently phasers and disruptors.
("Heh heh...Ferengi squeal like kits when you shoot their ears off."
One thing their science could not solve was the discovery that she suffered from hyperosmia - an oversensitivity of the nose. On the plus side, her sense of smell is comparable to that of a bloodhound, but on the minus side, strong scents effect her far more than other people leading to occasional headaches, nausea, or more rarely...euphoria (primarily with pheromones or mint). Because of her ability, she received training as a scout and aquitted herself well in detecting enemies before they did her...all except for that one embarassing incident with a herd of kshat, but there is no way she's going to mention that one. She's also a bit of a clean freak, but mainly where it comes to scent. A room can be very messy but still somewhat acceptable to her if it smells nice. She has no memory of how she was captured and placed into the stasis device she was found in. The last she can recall was taking a pleasant bath and then...she woke up naked in a strange room with two big-eared monkey-things. Doing what came natural, she screamed and leaped onto the nearest one who was just stepping back from the unit with a look of shock. She tore his throat out but was almost immediately afterwards stunned by the other. She woke up restrained and still naked with that second monkey-thing along with several others staring at her. To make a long story short, she learned a lot after that. The one who had her was Daimon Kee, and he had implanted in her a device that would cause her muscles to seize up painfully whenever she tried to hurt or disobey him. When he believed her to be broken, he had her trained to be his bodyguard. She learned a fair amount about the present during her two and a quarter standard years as a body guard, including the fact that the Ferengi had acquired her from a down-on-his-luck Cardassian who had purchased the unit with her in it as a curiousity from the Gamma Quadrant. The Ferengi had been treating her as an art piece of all things, and had quite wisely avoided touching the buttons on the base that he didn't understand. His late guest had not been so circumspect.
He still used her as an art piece too. True to traditional Ferengi standards,
he never clothed her save for jewelry and airy things that concealed little or
nothing. He also liked to show off his control of her by hand feeding her
bits of meat. Eventually though, Daimon Kee's luck ran out. Tarra discovered
that the device was not automatic as he had claimed. Though he didn't realize
it when he punished her for the last time, she saw the sniveling little worm
touch a stud on a large ring on his right hand just before the device was
triggered, so...much later when he wasn't looking her way, she ducked down and
bit his right hand off. Yes, indeed, she bit the hand that fed her.
Well, suffice it to say that she took her time working out her anger on the Daimon before dispatching him and going on a killing spree. Nothing lasts forever though - after over an hour of carnage, forces from the Ministry of Commerce showed up to end the disruption to business. They stunned her and put her back into stasis to be distributed as per the Daimon's will along with his other possessions. She has no idea how she wound up on the Freedom, but she went into stasis POed and so that's how she came out...smack in the middle of this holodeck glitch. Fortunately for Lee, the holodeck actually gave him enough warning to get out of the area and even provided a substitute target for the Kzinrette's rage. Eventually after a bizarre series of events that could only occur on the holodeck or in a cartoon, they both escaped, and Lee escorted Tarra to medical so that the doctor could check her over. Though a casual observer might have seen little, the meeting was an emotional affair for both females. Initial tensions were soon abandoned in favor of common cause, and the two Kzinrettes decided to seal the relationship. They went to K'Lynxl's quarters and performed an ancient rite that bound them together as sisters. Time heals all wounds (with a little help from the good doctor) and finally the day came that Tarra was ready to face the world again. Considering her past, it was pointed out that Starfleet always needs security personel, and in fact the Freedom could use a security chief (though noone elaborated on the 'red shirt' phenomenon). Unaware of the risks, this seemed fine with her since she honestly had no idea what else she would do now, and there was always the chance she'd get to shoot some Ferengi.
Of course, she couldn't just start working immediately - she had to travel to
Starfleet Academy first. Starfleet regs required that no matter her
credentials, she had to go through training ( stupid bureaucracy!
The interesting part though is that on the way to the Academy, the shuttle craft she was traveling in got caught in a reversed-polarity tachyon stream that cut the subjective travel time in half and shot them four years into the past - the exact amount of time she was going to spend at the Academy. It was almost as if Fate (or perhaps Q?) wanted to get her back to the Freedom as quickly as possible. Incidentally, the shuttle craft pilot was thrilled - knowing the outcomes ahead of time, he made some careful wagers on various sports and amassed enough latinum to retire on Risa. Knowing next to nothing of modern sports, Tarra simply completed her training, and ... well, Starfleet didn't know what else to do with her, so they sent her to the Freedom. In fact, Admiral Ironbottom insisted on it since he felt he could keep an eye on her there, but of course she was never made aware of that. She now resides with her bond-sister Cheif Medical Officer Lt. Cmdr. K'Lynxl and her sister's two darling cubs K'Torr and T'Saal. As fate (or Ironbottom) would have it, K'Lynxl's own mother (and thus Tarra's bond-mother) M'Rander was made Captain of the Freedom shortly before Tarra's return. Her cabin is directly adjacent to K'Lynxl's and there is a door between them. Tarra gets along quite well with Lynx, but she's still working on her relationship with Captain M'Rander.
